What can be done to make the KDP Sales Data really useful?
If you sell eBooks using Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform, you undoubtedly keep track of your sales using the KDP interface (kdp.amazon.com). The dashboard for your book(s) is the default view in the KDP interface, but if you choose Reports from the top menu, it will direct you to the dashboard for your sales, where you can view your sold units, Kindle Edition Normalized Pages Read for KU (Kindle Unlimited) and KOLL (Kindle Lending Library), as well as your monthly royalties accumulated. Other options to change the view include changing the dates, arranging particular books, or choosing particular marketplaces.
Enter Book Report. A Book Report hot button is added to your browser by the free app app.getbookreport.com. When you first activate Book Report, you might need to sign in to your KDP account to sync with it, but after you've done that, it frequently runs on its own and you don't need to keep your KDP interface open in order to use it. Book Report is excellent. It is visually appealing, easy to use, and loaded with entertaining bells and whistles. I always open mine first thing in the morning and leave it open all day. Due to frequent changes, the data you see are consistently accurate.
The tab at the top of the website keeps a rolling tally of today's sales, so even if you're working on another tab in your browser, you can still see the number.
You can immediately observe how your books are doing thanks to a number of basic visual aids that are displayed on the default page. The first is Top Earners. This provides you with a quick look at your top six books based on sales.
Earnings by Day comes next. This line graph displays your revenue from KDP Select pages viewed (in blue) and your royalties from sales (red). If you recently received a promotion, it’s simple to see the surge that should follow (as well as the cliff that inevitably follows).
Earnings by Marketplace is the final fast reference. This displays the breakdown of your book sales across the various Amazon markets. There are many additional marketplaces that aren’t represented in my example, but Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.ca, and Amazon.de are obviously the US, the UK, Canada, and Germany, respectively, in the example below.
What can be done to make the KDP Sales Data really useful?
Do you ever desire a system that would easily integrate with your current KDP sales dashboard and offer you current data that is tastefully presented and easy to understand? – A book report is the solution.
Even if there are several benefits, the most significant one is that you can obtain the information you need to decide whether you want to act cunningly or not. Discover as soon as possible which books are doing well and which are not. Discover which of your pen names brings in the most money. The practical side of writing has all of a sudden become much simpler. Now you can concentrate on writing new novels, which is the fun part!
As sales come in, your transparent reports are automatically updated. There is no need to import, refresh, or hit any buttons. It’s active.
